Ah, wonderful!

Thanks to the drop from Java v7 to v6.2, open office is working beautifully!
I strongly reccommend however, to use Libre Office instead, as that is
at v3.6, and the enable accessibility support checkbox is within the
installer itself.
You can learn more about it, and grab it here:

Hi Doug,

Yep, using v7.0 here. Shall uninstall and downgrade at once!

Bob and Trenton,

What versions of the Jre do you have installed? Don was also having
this problem and just informed me if he used jre 6.29 it works but if he
uses jre 7 it doesn't. Many Java applications are dependent on certain
jre versions. Welcome to Java. This is also why you can have multiple
versions of the jre installed. In any case, perhaps going back to 6.29
jre Open Office will open up.

You can get older jre installs from:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/archive-139210.html

Specifically the 6.29 version is at:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javasebusiness/downloads/java-archive-downloads-javase6-419409.html#jdk-6u29-oth-JPR

Although, I just had a thought, what if it isn't the jre version but
that you don't have the 32-bit jre installed. I just looked at my
system which does have the jre 7 installed but only in 64-bit. Under
32-bit I have 6 and 7 installed. So maybe it has more to do with you
all not installing the 32-bit jre.

Greetings!

I to am having this same problem. Although, it seems to also have this
same problem with NVDA too. So I'm not thinking its a WE specific
problem.

Using Open Office 3.4.1.
As I stated somewhere, Loadus Psymthany, based off of Open Office,
works only with the Documents program with WE, where open office calls
that Writer. NVDA works with all applications, except the Drawing
program for obvious reasons.
Maybe I missed something with Java or something? Not sure. I've
uninstalled Java, and the access bridge once, and I've restarted the
PC as well. No luck sadly.

I first went back to Windows 7 and installed the 8.0.1 Beta. The
Window-eyes beta still isn't speaking anything unless I use WE cursor.
What should I have done?
