Thanks. Would this depend upon whether USB connected devices require redirection to serial ports, or are all usb devices regarded by Windows as serial ports. I know that Braille displays set up via Blue tooth require a serial port so I understand that your comment would apply to all blue Tooth devices.

Serial ports are not loaded in safe mode, I'd be very surprised if USB would be active in safe mode. It's already known that hardware synths won't work. ----- Original Message ----- From: Vaughan Dodd<mailto:[email protected]> To: '[email protected]'<mailto:'[email protected]'> Sent: Monday, October 29, 2012 5:21 PM Subject: Safe Mode and Braille Displays Hello everyone. Maybe something I need to experiment with over the weekend: Will Safe Mode as accessed through window-Eyes load braille display drivers alongside synthetic speech? There most certainly will be occasions when braille output will be helpful in understanding which Windows features are being troublesome. I currently have Windows 7, but will be shifting to Windows 8 sooner rather than later. If displays do not load under Windows 7 Safe Mode, maybe possible in Windows 8? Thanks.
