If Mcaffee is disabled, the behavior does not change. Clicking gwconnect simply
does nothing at all. I do not believe it even tries to run.

your AV program is probably killing the Skype kit runtime when it
attempts to launch. Make sure that both gwconnect.exe and
windows-x86-skypekit.exe are allowed to run normally.
