Loy: You can't have it both ways - you can't expect a beta to be bug free, and then down-grade just because the beta has problems. Problems and reporting are complimentary with the notion of betas.
I have noticed in recent cycles that Gw Micro reduces the number of public betas to perhaps two.) In the old days, some cycles went to beta K or L, and this was silly. So: Only the good people at GW know whether there will be another beta before the final release, but they have always taken the beta process seriously when it comes to dealing with user identified problems. New versions come out in part because their predecessors had bugs. Some of the bugs occur because of the rapid changes in how we use our computers to take advantage of new applications. I have never been convinced of the merits of downgrading. V7 has lots of problems, some of which are being fixed in v8. To avoid the problems of v7, which have contributed to the need to release v8, you would have to go back to v6 etc -which may notrun with new releases of browsers and other applications. I like to keep my systems current, and I respect that others are more cautious than I am. or is my logic skewed? All the best. Thinking about downgrading, a lot of bugs in the We 8 beta. I have reported many of them, but the bugs are really getting annoying. ------------------------------- This email and any attachments may contain information that is confidential and subject to legal privilege.
