I have a problem with TB if I reply to a message that is open. I can hear what I type being echoed, but if I make an error, not only can I not hear the backspace being spoken, nothing speaks. It is very simple to resolve the issue, alt-tab and alt tab again back to the email I am writing. This has always solved the issue, but this did not happen to me before the beta. Once I alt-tab twice, everything works fine, including the backspace. I am running 64-bit Windows 7 desktop and beta2. Also, I should include that this is only a problem with replying to a message that is already open. I can reply to messages from the Inbox screen or have no problems with newly created messages.

W7 HP 32, beta 2 latest TB

Hi,
Yes, I also have experienced the problem of beta 2 not speaking the characters as they are deleted by the backspace key while replying to a message. It does not happen every time though.

The status of browse mode also needs to be changed on occasion so a reply can be written. This has not been experienced for a while but now, sometimes it raises its ugly head.

 Neville.

Hey gang,

I was excited to see that the backspace issue with thunderbird had been
resolved according to the WE readme. Unfortunately, I'm still
experiencing this. In summary, the backspace key is silent when replying
to a message. I have the thunderbird_write.set file associated with the
compose window, I had it associated with none but now have it set to
window, should I change that to class? It could very well be my error
here, if everyone is not having this issue but me. anyone else still
getting this?
