It's a little obvious I know, but have you tried rebooting your pc? Also, have you tried other apps? Almost all apps use the GW toolkit, so if you can get any other apps to work, you would know for certain the toolkit is running ok.
I am using the beta and the weather or not app, and it's all ok.
