Thanks Chip.
I actually found the place where you can change the default action of file
types.
I selected vbs and associated it with windows script hoast. For some reason, I
was unable to access the context menu on .vbs files until I did this. Now all
is well again.
Thanks again,
Jeff Weiss

Hi Jeff,

Try finding a .vbs file with windows explorer and press the app key (the
equivalent to right-clicking it).  Find the "open with" submenu and open it up;
look for the "choose a program" option. In here will be a lot of programs in a
list, which Windows thinks may work with this type of file. The one you need
is named "Microsoft Windows Script Host". There's also a checkbox in this
dialog which says something like "always use the selected program", and you
probably want this to be checked.

Hth,

Chip

Subject: executing .vbs files

Using we 8 beta 2 with windows 7 64bit at home
With my Windows 7 64 bit computer at work, I can execute .vbs files using
windows script hoast by pressing enter on the file name just like in previous
versions of windows.
At home, on a windows 7 64 bit dell computer, pressing enter on .vbs files
simply opens the file in notepad. Can somebody tell me how to fix this
behavior?
Thanks
Jeff Weiss
