Dear Nolan, That sounds like a great idea to me.

Greetings, list, Here's the scenario: You download an attachment and save it. This is an extremely ephemeral file which could be replaced in mere minutes by something of the same name. So when you attempt to save an attachment as using Outlook Enhance, it simply won't allow you to use the old file name you used earlier as long as that file remains undeleted. Would it be possible to provide people like me with a replace option rather than to merely announce error and offer no other solution? Yes, it's true that I can use multiple file names, but that gets to be a bit of a cleanup later. Let me explain why this matters: While doing an internet radio show, I may receive a request by phone which comes to my in-box as a .WAV file. If I use the file name as suggested by Outlook, it might be possible to see the caller's number streamed; not likely, but not impossible if I've been in a hurry and didn't designate the file to the broadcasting software as one in which the name should not be streamed. So now I'm done with that request; it's been played and it's over. Now another phone call comes in. In the old days prior to Enhance, I would simply save the new file by the same file name as the older file had been known, since I no longer need the old file. So I might, on a given broadcast shift, have say six or seven phone requests which I used to save as request 1.wav so as to avoid even the most remote possibility that the individual who is calling will inadvertently have his or her number streamed. That way, even if I did make a mistake regarding telling the broadcast software what type of file the voice request is, the only thing that would stream would be "request 1.wav." I suspect by now, the authors of Outlook Enhance are pounding the table and screaming, "It's never enough for these people! No matter how good we make the app, there's always some shrill fool out there wanting more and more." The truth is, now that I have it working perfectly, I very much enjoy the app and would hate to stop it just because I want to replace a file name rather than save my attachment via a different name. It really is an excellent app, and its writers deserve genuine and copious praise. But I wonder whether there could be a simple routine of some kind that would let the app ask if you want to replace an existing file rather than merely error out and die, so to speak. True, I can just increment those file names--request 1.wav, request 2.wav, etc. but things can get busy enough under those circumstances that trying to keep track of which file you've listened to or played on air can be tricky, and it's just easier for me if I call them all request 1.wav and keep using that file name. I realize that my situation is ridiculously low incidence and that probably only one or two others who use that app would like that feature, but I figured it was at least worth bringing up.
