There used to be a note at the bottom of the page thanking you for your purchase stating that the feature would not work for IE users, don't recall if it is still there or not. When I made the purchases where it didn't work with Firefox, it still showed at the bottom of the page that the feature is turned on, but no automatic download just as with IE in the past. I've been wondering, since each of these orders where it didn't work included preorders as well as orders of current titles, if the presence of preorders in the cart didn't confuse things. Haven't had a chance to test that theory yet though. It is just as likely since Audible is constantly altering their site that something new broke the feature with Firefox in general or with newer versions. I really doubt it is anything to do with WE 8, I really can't conceive of how WE could interfere with the scripting on the page that gets the downloads started, but I suppose anything is possible. I am thinking of reinstalling the downloader to see if that fixes anything. Doing that fixed a problem I had with the Amazon MP3 downloader not working in Firefox, so I am hoping that the same trick might work here. If not, I'll contact Audible and maybe send a note to GW Micro just to be absolutely sure I am covering all bases.

Regards,

Chris

Te ato download feature doesn't seem to work in IE either and hasn't for
several versions.

Same here. Mine is set up to automatically add downloaded books to my iTunes
library and all functions and controls work the same with WE 8 beta 2 as
they have with previous versions. The only issue I've had with Audible of
late is that the drop box to display more than 20 books at a time no longer
seems to work, something I suspect that happened with their site changes
when they added the preorder feature since the issue appeared at around that
time. Oh, as I type I recall that one issue did pop up with the downloader,
the last two times I processed an order, the automatic download feature did
not work in Firefox. This was with Firefox 16 and I haven't ordered any
books since the update to 17 except for preorders which obviously won't
download automatically anyway. These orders were also the first I had done
since installing beta 2, so I guess there could be something to that, but I
think it far more likely to be something to do with Firefox changes.

Chris

but yes, it works fine with window-eyes 8.0 betas and all previous
versions too.

Have any of you used audible.com to download audio-books? Do you have to use their download manager or is there a method of getting the books without using it? It seemed to me that their download manager was not accessible with Beta 2. Have any of you tried it? If so, what was your experience like?
