Hi, unfortunately that's another problem which happens on some machines, but not all. This happens on one of my desktop machines some of the time, and hardly ever on my netbook. Go figure. When it does happen though, you can get around it by doing a control-shift-tab which places you in the subject field, then control-tab and you are placed in the message area and then Browse Mode should not act like it's on.

Hope that helps.

In TB 16.02... My account settings for composition has a checkbox for
Compose messages in html format. This box is unchecked. Much of the
time my write window in TB comes up in html and gives me errors, like no
frame when I hit the letter m. Other times it comes up in plain text
like I want it to. This changes without me making any changes to any
settings. It did it on this reply, so I am writing in Notepad and will
copy this text into the email body in order to get it in there.

Hi, try making sure that you are not composing in html email. Check this
in Tools/Settings and under your account section, go down to composition.
