Hi Barbara,
I recently helped another Window-Eyes customer with this task and wanted to pass along some additional information. Keep in mind that there are numerous options for creating rules so I can't provide instructions for all possible scenarios. Here are the steps for creating a rule in WLM that will send an email from a specific recipient to a specific email folder that already exists in your folder list: Follow these instruction to create a message rule that causes all emails from [email protected] to be moved automatically to the GW Micro folder: 1. Open Windows Live Mail 2. Press Alt-O to access the Folder tab on Ribbon (menu system in Windows Live Mail) 3. Press R to activate the Message Rules item from the Folder tab's lower Ribbon 4. You should be placed in the Select one or more conditions check box list in the New Mail Rule dialog (if you already have rules created, you will need to first activate the New button in the Rules dialog to reach the New Rules dialog) 5. Press Spacebar to check the first checkbox titled Where the From line contains people (you won't hear checked because it isn't a true check box but this will still work) 6. Press Tab to move to Select one or more actions check box list in the New Mail Rule dialog 7. Press Spacebar to check the first checkbox titled Move it to the specified folder (you won't hear checked because it isn't a true check box but this will still work) 8. Press Tab to move to the To edit this description, click the underlined words read-only edit box 9. Press down arrow to select the contains people link and press Enter 10. In the Select People dialog, type [email protected] into the first edit box and Tab to the Add button and press Spacebar to activate the button followed by Enter to activate the OK which will close the dialog. 11. Down arrow until you here Move it to the specified folder and press Enter 12. Use your up or down arrow keys to find the GW Micro folder and press Enter 13. Tab to the Enter a name for edit box and type Marc's Rule 14. Tab to the Save rule button and press Enter to activate the button and complete the process of creating a new mail rule. 15. Tab to the OK button of the Rules dialog after you confirm the details of the new rule you created. I hope you find this information helpful. Marc Solomon GW Micro, Inc. Would anyone know if there is a Win-eyes setting or settings that would help? I have created new folders but cannot create rules. Thanks in advance and all suggestions are welcome.
