Sorry should have said I've uninstalled the IE Enhanced App and the
problem has stopped. The problem continued even when the App was
unloaded but not uninstalled.

Hi Aaron, Rebooting doesn't make any difference. The App when started
soon stops so that neither of the entries in the Apps list are in fact
running.

Hi, Yusuf.
It should appear twice, once stopped, because IE always launches two
processes. If you have more than one copy running, that tells me you
have a rogue IE process running. Does the problem continue after
rebooting?

Hi Aaron, The problem seems to be with IE Enhanced. When it is
installed it appears twice in the list of Apps and is being reported
as being stopped. It shouldn't appear twice should it? GWMicro should
have an error from me today from this App that might help to narrow
down what the issue is.

Hi, Yusuf.
I thought you were saying that you couldn't use IE at all. Never mind,
then. It sounds like you're on the way to narrowing down the culprit.

Aaron, Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure that's it as after I sent
out the earlier message I turned off all running apps and I haven't
had the problem since. Also, if it were the developer tool bar
wouldn't that prevent me from using Internet Explorer at all? With
Apps running I was able to use Internet Explorer but only one time out
of 3 roughly. I guess the next thing is to turn Apps back on one at a
time and see which one is causing the problem.

Hi, Yusuf.
It sounds as though you have the Internet Explorer Developer sidebar
open. If this is open, and Internet Explorer is launched with
Window-Eyes running, Internet Explorer will blow up. This is a known
Microsoft issue, and they have fixed the problem in Internet Explorer
10. You can toggle this sidebar with F12. The kicker is that you
can't
get IE open if the sidebar is open, so you're stuck in a catch-22.
You
can use Windows Narrator, or some other screen reader, to get the
sidebar turned off. I would then recommend upgrading to IE10 so
that you
don't run into this problem again in the future.

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered already but I only just
upgraded to the final version of WE8 today. Ever since I've had
consistent problems with IE9 and various web sites. Basically, IE
dings and seems to freeze and all I can do is exit IE and try again.
This is happening at least 2 thirds of the time that I am trying to
use the web. It happens when I first open IE, it also happens when I
try to go back to a previous page. There are no addins running
through
the view menu. Also, the IE enhanced App crashed earlier and sent a
error report to someone or other.
Any ideas?
