Maybe other screen readers are spending time and money developing fake progress bars and charging people for that. Maybe they calculate what time they think a web page or download will take and doing the fake thing throughout and calling it innovative features. *shrug*.

That's interesting. There are no progress bars, so it would be
interesting to know exactly what you're hearing on what pages.

Here is what I remember in answers I got from GW on this matter. The
first response I got from GW when IE 9 came out was that WE would not be
able to review a web page with the mouse keys because of a change in IE
9. Now during the beta cycle I was told that other screen readers could
review IE 9 web pages with the mouse keys and with some work WE could be
made to do it as well. When I indicated how much I liked this feature I
got the impression right or wrong that GW didn't see it as a real
priority need and that I was only in a minority of users that would like
to have this feature back. So again I only want to express my wish that
the next version of WE include this feature once again. Of course I
could use Firefox but it is well known some web pages work better with
IE and some work better with Firefox.

Yes, IE9 has been out a long time, which also means that GW Micro has
had a long time to fix the problem.

Hi all. in the mean time if you want to review web pages with the
mouse pointer and can't go back to IE8 for whatever reason, there is
always Firefox. You can do it there. Also know that this isn't
anything new considering that ie9 has been out for a long time now.
