While this is an educated  guess, I think what they are meaning to say is that 
Window-Eyes will support the version of Windows that runs on PC's but not the 
version of Windows 8 that runs on the other family 
of microprocessors used on Windows 8 phones and mobile devices.  If I am wrong, 
you and I are both in the same boat but so are many others.  <smile>  It is 
common to refer to Intel-based systems in sort of a 
generic way.
