Grant,
First, make sure the mouse is in the top left corner of the message
window by pressing Numpad-7. If that doesn't solve the issue, open
Window-Eyes, go to Verbosity/Browse Mode/New Page Information 1, and
make sure the "automatically read" setting is set to either the first 24
lines or the entire document.
