There are at least two things going on here. GW has this odd policy of not accepting online purchases from people outside of the U.S., but you can order directly by phone. GW is not unique in this regard, but it is a very xenophobic approach. There is also the matter of the relationships with local dealers and it does stand to reason that GW would want to support and nurture its dealers. The fact that some dealers don't actively promote Window-Eyes and GW Micro products is another story. I really think that as the new voices are just electronic files, requiring an electronic payment method, they should be purchasable online. I guess that once the order has been placed by phone, an electronic licensing key and url are emailed, once the orders people have gone online to process the purchase details anyway. I raised this matter of nearly a year ago, and apparently, it is difficult to check/validate orders - credit card fraud and all that - as if those of us living outside the United States are more likely to commit fraud than U.S. residents - I don't think so really! I live in New Zealand, and our banking system is one of the most advanced in the world, with most of us knowing how to take care of our personal data. I am hoping to place my order in the next few days, so would be interested to learn how you get on. Good luck. Vaughan. a -----Original Message----- From: Samuel Wilkins [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Thursday, 13 December 2012 12:27 p.m. To: [email protected] Subject: Purchasing Vocalizer Voices Hello everyone, I am trying to purchase the Vocalizer English voices from GW Micro. However, every time I try, it says product is not available outside the US. Why is this? If you reply to this message it will be delivered to the original sender only.
