I have had this happen myself when I have downloaded software. Since I trusted the provider, I have ignored these warnings since I know security programs can be overly aggressive. It happened to me the first time I downloaded LastPass, my password manager program. I asked my computer tech about this, and he said some security programs don't like it, but it is okay. Yes, it would be nice to know when these warnings are a bit aggressive and when they are serious. Unfortunately, a little judgment is required. I would be interested in hearing what other listers have to say.

Subject: Accessible Bible Software

Hi. the accessible Bible reading software recently recommended by Vic,
"Bible Seeker", contains a potentially harmful application, according to my
Esec Smart Security software, which explains that it may be adware or other
similar unauthorized, undisclosed tampering. ESEC warns to download at your
own risk.
