Hi Mark,
If you can not get to WE8 control panel with control backspace,
then your WE8 has become corrupt.
You should close all programs and log off your computerwhich is faster
than restarting your computer.
As for the slowness with audacity,
I suggest putting your priority for wineyes.exe to hi, and see if that
helps.
