I have a new computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have been told by
several people that Office 2003 will work with Windows 7. I don't want to
lose Office 2003, as it has some tools such as a document scanner which I
have been told are not available in later versions of Office.

When I open Outlook, cursoring up and down gives no speech. I know I have
messages, as insert control S tells me how many. I am having to press enter
to open each message, control shift T to tell me the subject, and then
delete or reply as necessary. Previously on my old computer I could run up
and down messages and press the delete key if the subject was not of
interest to me.

Another thing that happens is that after I have dealt with a few messages,
Outlook throws me out, and control shift T says no active program, so I have
to alt tab back to Outlook.

I am also having difficulty editing messages when typing, as backspace does
not speak the letter or punctuation mark I am deleting.

I have gone to factory settings, and found that Office 2003 set was not
installed, so I installed it, but it has not made any difference.
Window-Eyes does say the right set file is active and associated. I notice
in factory settings that there is Office XP, and I wonder whether this would
work better.

I have spent a lot of time going through Window-Eyes settings, trying
different things, but to no avail. I have also read five braille volumes of
Windows 7 Explained, and have tried various options in Control panel and
elsewhere.

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
