I checked it out yesterday, and while the alternate site does seem less
cluttered hte main site is hardly unusable. I agree it would be simpler
just to improve accessibility of the main site rather than do a whole
new one.

If you go to Audible.com, there is a note at the top of the page

to add more accessibility. The URL of the new page is

I haven’t checked out how much difference the page makes as of yet as
I don’t have a lot of problems with the site using Window Eyes 8. I am
of two minds as I am glad that they are taking accessibility
seriously, but I am not really a huge fan of alternative page versions
since I would prefer that things move towards better accessibility of
the same site used by sighted users. I hope it is not like Amazon’s
alternate site, which to me is actually less useable since it does
away with a rather large amount of information to allow them to
streamline the page. That one is more useful as a mobile site to me
rather than as a good alternative to the standard site. Hopefully the
Audible site will be more useful. At any rate, I thought it would be
good to post this to the list so that others can try the site out and
determine whether or not they find it an improvement for Window Eyes
users. Whatever your experience, I highly recommend letting Audible
know your opinions as I have found them to be quite willing to listen
to their customers.

Chris
