Oh, I see what the problem is now. I had set them all to always be shown using Notification area icons in the control panel. So I don't see the Notification Bar Chevron button. The other items, like open programs are in the task bar and I can tab to that and cursor around to everything.

Tom,

The INSERT-S command does not give me all of the items in the System Tray after
I have expanded it by pressing SPACE or ENTER on
the Notification Bar Chevron button. It seems to only give me the items that
showed originally.

However, if I press the Notification Bar Chevron button and then go up one and
press ENTER on the Customize link, there is then a
check box to show all items. When I check this box, the INSERT-S command then
shows everything that is showing. I suppose doing
this takes up more screen space, but it seems to me that the Notification Bar
acts much more stable with Window-Eyes.

Strange. Both your method, Sandra, and the one posted by David give me
the same exact results I get with the Window-Eyes Insert-S hot key, not
to mention the fact that I can simply arrow around the system tray and
get the same access as well.
This is on W7/64.

Hi John and Everyone,

I hope they send it to the list, and I'll keep it this time. <smile>

I do know that Insert S does not extend the System tray. I use to know how to
do that, also, but can't remember.

Please send it to the list, and I promise I'll keep it this time.

Thanks.

I have forgotten the key strokes for extending the system tray. My
friend has a new pc and he cannot access the system tray. I know
Stephen sent me the key strokes some time ago but I lost them.

Could someone help please?

Live long and prosper, John
