Dennis, it's possible that the first machine on which you check messages
isn't deleting them from the server after retrieving them. To check for
this possibility, go to Account Settings using "Alt-T, S," and arrow to
"Server Settings." Look for the "leave messages on server" checkbox,
and make sure it is unchecked.
