I wouldn't bother trying to install a program to return the old style
Start Menu, it looks like it might be back in the Windows 8 update soon.
Why not do what I did, uninstall all those useless programs in the tiles
and replace them with your own ones.
My Start Screen just looks like the All Programs list in Windows XP, but
i've arranged them into different tiles so that similar software is
located in the same tile.
Either do it that way, or just ignore the Start Screen and run your
installed software from the desktop.
