Hello Michael,
Thank you for the feedback. Please note that with Window-Eyes 8 and
newer, you should be able to use OpenOffice and LibreOffice now with the
support of the Java Access Bridge.
Regarding GWConnect, we continue to work on this program as time allows,
and we are just as eager to add video support to round out its feature
set. Because our program accesses the Skype network, we are bound by
certain feature and legal limitations. For instance, the Skype Kit
currently does not support merging one's MSN or Facebook contacts into
one's account, and we are prohibited in duplicating the desktop API's
plugin system. Video, however, is a big ticket item and we hope to be
able to bring it to fruition when we release the next major version.
However, we will only do so when and if we find the SkypeKit video
implementation reliable enough for daily use.
Regards,
Steve

Dear GW Micro Staff,
After I was using the WE8.2 since it was released, I wish to report
that I am very happy with this latest release. Indeed it is a
wonderful piece of work.
For the future, I wish that GW Micro provide better support for the
Open Office and Liber Office so we the blind users will have more
choice as regarding office packeges.
Another thing that I wish to see (even if we have to pay small fee for
it), is a bootable DVD of Windows with Window-eyes integrated on it so
totally blind people can make pc trouble shooting orother
administrative tasks such as windows password reset possible. I have
in mind something similar to the Vinux OS CD but obviously with
Window-eyes, see: http://vinuxproject.org/
One question that I would like to ask is: Since Microsoft bought
Skype, GW Micro tried to put some pressure on Microsoft to improve the
Skype interface accessibility? I know that there is the GW Connect,
which I really like it, but GW Connect does not provide Video Support,
which it is very unfortunate.
I use the WE with many different programs eg: excel, powerpointms-word
and many others, and WE with every new version theaccessibility always
improve.
More than that, I wish to congratulate GW Micro programmers for their
hard work, because to wrote all those lines of programming code is not
a joke.
Keep it up.
Kind regards,
Michael Micallef
