Rick, I can't find any reference in the Jarte manual to HTML, nor do I
think it integrates with audio and video projects. However, I can tell
you it is very easy to learn and is quite accessible. The developer has
gone out of his way to provide a screen reader mode which enables lots
of functionality. If you want to know what is and is not possible using
this mode, go to
http://www.jarte.com
and click on "Support." From there, you'll be able to search the manual
by going to "Online Help Search." Typing in "screen reader mode" will
show you documentation related to accessibility.
Note that Jarte will not write in "docx" format. However, it will read
these files and allow you to save them as "doc" or "rtf" files.
There is a free version and a paid version. I believe the cost of the
paid version is $20. If you pay for the software, you'll get terrific
support. Bob Flora of Carolina Road Software answers questions within
hours.

Hi Guys: Some time ago someone mentioned to me that Jart was an
accessible alternative to Office Word but I never tried it.
I am interested in how accessible you are finding it in general with WE
and how complicated it is to learn.
Does it include the ability to convert documents to HTML as a WebPage
and any support for including Audio or Video in projects?

Butch, I am a long-time Jarte user, and I haven't noticed this
behavior. Which set file is loading when you call up jarte? I'm
guessing it is default.set.

Hello, I am using wineyes 8.2 with windows 8 and the free jarte word
processor, and every time I press a key, wineyes reads the entire
line, even when I press the spacebar it does this. I checked the
keyboard voice settings and it is set to voice on with characters.
Has anyone else experienced this? Please help.
Butch
