Manny,
You left out the part about how you're running a hybrid version of
Window-Eyes that we gave you to attempt to solve another problem you
were having. So I'm not sure you're in the exact same situation.

Aloha Aaron,
I confirmed that I don't have uefi running on my computer
by doing the following
I ran an elevated
power shell
I copied and pasted the following
Confirm-SecureBootUEFI
I got the following message:
Confirm-SecureBootUEFI : Cmdlet not supported on this platform:
0xC0000002
At line:1 char:1

So, I don't have uefi running but I am having the same issues as
posted by Dave's original post.
Any thoughts on why I am having the same symptoms?
This computer was a windows 7 which was upgraded to windows 8.
Originally I had a dual boot, but now I only have windows 8.
Many thanks,
Manny
