is 10.1.7 the newest version for windows 7?
i don't see anything about protected mode in security/enhanced screen
with mine the protected mode options are in the general menu.
Greetings,

With the latest Adobe Reader, it is imperative that you disable its
protected mode options as this will render all PDFs inaccessible in Windows
XP. You can find the relevant options by opening Adobe's preferences dialog
with Control-K, going to the "security enhanced" tree view item, and
unchecking the protected mode check boxes. Once you restart Adobe Reader,
you should be able to read your documents again-- assuming that they were
authored correctly.

Regards,
Steve

Subject: Accessible Adobi reader

Hi all,

My husband just had to practically rebuild my computer after it got the fbi
virus! It was terrible! I had to get a new hard drive. Fortunately all of my
files were saved. But, all of my special programs were gone. Now I can’t
read anything in pdf or Adobi. My husband says that I don’t need any special
Adobi program, because accessibility is built into the Adobi reader. I don’t
think that is true. If I do need a certain Adobi program, what do I need
that will both work for the blind and work well with Window Eyes? Thanks.

Paulette
