A few months ago, when WE8 was introduced to the market, there was some
discussion on its workability with alternatives to Microsoft Office. I recently
bought a computer, with Office pre-installed and activated. Unfortunately, some
toolbar got installed one way or the other, and I had to perform a repair of
the Microsoft Office package. Without the original CD. Well, short version of
the story, is that I am left with a software, which requires a re-installation,
and that will cost me quite a paycheque.

All in all, I wonder if there is any alternative to Microsoft Office, that
works OK with the newest version of Window-Eyes? I see, that many sighted
users, are talking mainly about two alternatives: OpenOffice, and LibraOffice.
Anyone knows the difference between the two? And, has anyone had any experience
as to which one will work the better with a screen reader? Even if my last
question is a bit off-topic, still I woncer if NVDA has better support for the
free alternatives?

Thanks for any feedback. I don't really feel like forking out a load of extra
money, if i could do with a free alternative that will do what I need to do.
Yet, I don't want to clutter a rather new computer, with numerous try-and-fail
installations of software that does not work properly. :) So, if anyone has
anything to contribute, I am all ears.
