Thank you. Hopefully, this will help other listers, too.

Subject: MS Word 2010 Tracking Changes

Hi Tom,

I wanted to respond to your message with some tips regarding using Window-Eyes
and Track Changes in Word. This domain is one of the more powerful and useful
features of Word but also one of the more complex to use. Here are a few
suggestions:

1. You should change the way revisions are displayed to show them in
balloons to allow Window-Eyes to read the revisions properly. This setting can
be changed in the Tracking group of the ribbon under Show Markup, balloons

2. If you want to find comments or revisions that have been added to a
document, I would recommend using the Page Navigation dialog (Insert-Tab) as it
will give the ability to list revisions and comments that are in the document
and then jump to the position in the document where the revisions and comments
have been added

3. If you want to take action upon a revision (accept, reject), I would
recommend navigating to the revision and then using the context menu to find
these options instead of going in and out of the ribbon

4. You can also press Alt-Left bracket and Alt-Right bracket to jump from
revision to revision in your document. These are Window-Eyes hotkeys. Once
you find a revision in your document, use the context menu options to accept or
reject it.

5. One you jump to the position in a document where a comment has been
inserted, open the context menu and choose edit comment. This will place your
focus in the comment balloon and allow you to read and edit it. You can press
ESC to leave the comment and return to the document.

6. Adding comments to a document involves selecting the text you wish to
comment on and then selecting the add comment item from the Review tab of the
ribbon.

7. To add revisions, you need to turn on Track Changes. The Word keyboard
shortcut is CTRL-SHIFT-E (it is a toggle) but you will need to use the
Window-Eyes bypass command since this is also a Window-Eyes hotkey.

I hope you find this information helpful.

Regards,

Marc
