When I bought it, about two years or so ago, it cost around $80-plus. Labels
are sold in various sizes, all on rolls of waxed paper with the outer side
bearing the sticky, peelable, heat-sensitive paper.

The Dymo labels you're talking about are plastic or foil with a peelable
backing, and the tape takes and holds embossings well, even changes color where
the pressure is applied.

These labels, for this $80 machine, look and feel kinda like those address
labels you can special order with your name and address already printed on them,
but these come as blanks. Your printer applies heat to them, instead of
pressure, and the heat causes them to seriously darken. So in fact, the process
is essentially dot-matrix-like.

Subject: Dymo labels?

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know what this is, but I'm curious. Dymo
labels have always meant to me the plastic tape labels with embossed letters, be
it block letters or braille. Then you peel off the backing. The tape comes in
many colors, or clear for braille. Is this what this printer makes, or are you
talking about printing with ink on paper labels?

Any info on the printer would be appreciated as well, such as where to buy it
and about how much it costs.

Thanks!
Marilyn
