I think it's google. It's hard to use the dashboard, but the page keeps refreshing in the browse mode buffer too. The screen reader shortcuts do work though in google docs and sheets but both are very, very slow in terms of response time. No, I don't think it's gw because other screen readers have trouble with google apps as far as I know.

Karyn,

This is sad. I also have not been able to use a google group.

What is up? Is Google deliberately thumbing their nose at accessibility of their products or is GW falling behind the curve?

I actually have run both NVDA and WE on this site using Firefox and the spoken results are different between the two screen readers.

I seem to get more out of NVDA than with what WE will speak. I don't prefer to use NVDA but... maybe I will have to learn. I will try to run the Google ad min site with IE 8 again but it tells me that my browser is not supported and to update to a more modern browser.

WE and the newer Internet explorers don't work with mouse access. I can't drop IE 8 because when I need to run reports from the ATT web site to analyze the company cell phone bills there are parts that you have to use the mouse to click on. You can't press enter on that "link" If I can get we to say that element either in or out of brows mode. The mouse has to click on submit.

That is the only way to send through the report settings to the site so reports can be run in different formats. It just occurred to me, that I haven't tried Firefox with the ATT premier Website. I'll put that on my to do list.

WE refused to work at all with the Boeing web portal that Boeing insisted we sign up with to do work with them for business. To be fair NVDA didn't work either. It was a total crash with both.

I have tried to get into Google Chrome but I haven't been able to spend a lot of time trying to get that browser to work as the documentation says it will. I have to again use NVDA instead of WE to even get Google Chrome to work as I am being told it will because you have to use the Google store to download chromevox and WE doesn't work at all in that environment.

I have an iphone that uses voice over and safari but these websites are pretty complicated for a tiny touch screen so I haven't tried them with it but... maybe it is time to try?

Sad, sad state of affairs. I am now feeling the Browser Blues. Does everyone on the list have to juggle the browser/site/ screen reader issue?

My preferred screen reader has brought me this far but no farther?

Is the web programming changing so much that it can't be kept up with? Are Web designers doing it deliberately or out of ignorance or both?

Why is this happening?

Shannon,

I wish I had better news for you but google list administration is less than accessible. I'm working on getting out of managing a google groups list deu to access issues.

Good morning,

Does anyone else on the list administer a google apps account?

They have apparently changed the control panel into a Dash Board.

I am totally stumped as to how to use this interface. I am running WE 8.3 on a windows seven machine.

I have tried to use the Fire Fox browser 23.0.1 and Internet explorer 8 to get into the controls of my google apps account to manage the email accounts for our company. And the associated apps.

I have listened to their introduction video but the narrator keeps referring to Here and Over here to explain where the controls are.

The page now appears to be filled with edit boxes with no explanation as to what may be required to be entered into them. I can't find the list of my users as the video says is available. This site has become a complete black hole for me.

Does anyone else use this site to manage their email accounts and if so how are you able to determine what and how to do it?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Shannon
