No. MalwareBytes is a malware program, not an anti-virus. And it will
run fine simultaneously with an anti-virus program whereas running two
anti-virus programs will have them battling it out and slowing down your
system much more.
I ran it simultaneously for years with NOD32 and then MSE and had no
problems. But of course having everything checked twice is going to slow
down your system. So I turned off MalwareBytes Pro real-time protection
and just run it about once a week. But I'm not an internet range rover
like some. MSE caught one Trojan a few months ago and MalwareBytes
caught a little adware about a year ago. Other than that it's been years
since I've had any virus or malware problems. So that's why I leave MSE
running and just do a manual scan with malwareBytes about once a week.
Although I also use it's context menu feature to scan individual files I
download.

Does Malwarebytes claim it is a full antivirus program? I didn't think it did
but have not looked at the website for a while.

Hi Mcleod,
If you own the payed version of malware bytes pro, I would turn malware
bytes protection on and turn security essential off.
It is not recommended to run 2 antivirus programs at the same time. If
you are in doubt, just google it.
Good luck, Manny If this helps, you can thank me by checking out my

No. The programs do not conflict with each other. I run them both at
