I am now using Omnipage 19, but the user interface hasn’t degraded too much
since 17. Many things don’t have shortcuts, and you really can’t use the
program to do automatic reading like you would with K1000 or OpenBook. After
you have set up your options for the three steps, you can do ctrl-1, ctrl-2 and
ctrl-3 to complete them. The three steps are input, OCR and output. If you
want to read text from within the program, you may have to click your mouse
pointer in the correct part of the screen. This won’t even work until a status
line shows row and column numbers in the bottom of the edit window. I think it
helps to turn off the proofreading/verification option, as well. To initially
set things up, explore the Alt-P Process menu. I also think there is a list of
keyboard shortcuts in the help system; you might want to write some of them
down because some are unusual. Hope this helps.

Subject: Navigating with WE and OmniPage

Hello all:

Using Windows 7 32-bit and WE 8.3 and either OmniPage 17 or 18.

I am looking for ways to navigate more easily in OmniPage and wonder if there
are keyboard shortcuts available. I did not find them using Google and believe
Nuance still charges for tech inquiries. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Many thanks.
