There is a setting in Window-Eyes that tells it to switch languages if language tags are encountered on the web page. Since it’s a German site, they may have forgotten to tag their English page as English, but have the German default at the top of the page. If you use WE 7.5 or higher, this is in the settings tree view under Verbosity, Browse Mode, Languages, Switch Synthesizer Languages Automatically. By default, this is enabled, but for many sites like this one it is useful to disable this feature.
From: Mike Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 4:08 PM To: [email protected] Subject: puzzling problem I was recently sent a link after enquiring about the availability of an audible battery tester. The link is: http://www.marland.eu/produkte/c/batterie-und-akkutester/p/wooffy-batterie-und-akkutester-audio/ When I visit the Site, I click on the link for English but WE is reading, what I am told is in English, in German. A sighted friend has watched as I cursor up and down the page , all texxt is spoken in German but she confirms it is all written in English. Any ideas? Mike.
