I haven't had this problem either but the issue now seems to be whether
Vipre is slipping behind in the virus detecting race. If it is, as a
list subscriber claims, then we may all have to look for something else.

Hi,
I use vipre and have never had any problems with it telling me programs
I use are viruses. For me Vipre is a set it and forget it scanner.
Having said that, I have noticed when updating NVDA if I turn off active
protection the update will go faster then if I have active protection
enabled.
Even that has gotten better with vipre over the last update or two.
Haven't had the slow down issue with Window-eyes and its updates.

You will need to check that all of your deffinitions are up to date. If they
are not, there's your problem. Personally, I stopped using Viper a long time
ago because it was saying that programs I used on a daily bases were viruses
and they weren't. You may want to call GFI software and explain your situation
and also tell them your using a screen reader to access there product. They
have worked with many of the visually impaired comunity.
