Hi all. I find that direct text entry with my Braille Edge is easier than the conventional qwerty keyboard, in part because I make fewer typographical errors, and the display is positioned more conveniently.
I have been trying to generate a set of Braille hot keys which will enable text to be selected in the same way that conventional shift-arrow keys work.. I am not having much success. My shift key is assigned as "sticky shift" and pressing/releasing this and then quickly pressing the arrow keys does not wor. There is a hot key which allows for clearing a sticky key, which might allow my preferred method to work, or for the shift key to be pressed and held for the purposes of selecting text prior to cutting or copying. Does anyone have suggestions please? It seems to me that a double press of the assigned sticky key could be used to unstick, but maybe I have it all wrong! Vaughan.
