Barbara,

In case you aren't aware of this, there's an alternative to the laptop
layout which I always found preferable. Most laptops have a way of
simulating keypad keystrokes: usually it's a combination of the fn key plus
the keys center around the u, I, and o. If you practice using these keys as
you would the numeric keypad, then you can use standard layout on the
laptop, and when you discuss key combinations, everyone will be familiar
with the combinations you are using. I think this is especially preferable
if you are moving between a laptop and a desktop, and it's been made even
easier when GW introduced the capslock as an alternative to the insert key
(that may have been a WE 8 feature, I'm not sure), but it makes some of the
combinations much easier.

Sorry this isn't answering your question directly, but hope it helps.

Subject: Laptop hot keys

Hello Everyone,

I use my laptop a lot less than my desktop, so things are a bit fuzzy. I
have the laptop layout on this computer. I need to route the mouse to my
location. I looked in the hotkey in the Windows control panel under mouse.
I found an item which seems to tell me to use shift-control-_. I pressed
this and got a message telling me I am not in table mode. What to do? It
also appears that the left mouse click is shift-control-;.

Please clarify.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Barbara
