Hello Jim
This is a little strange. It sounds as though there is a program on
your machine intercepting your attempt to click on the link.
I assume that you pressed Enter to open the link.
Alternatively, after focusing the link, press the Application key or
Shift-F10. This will cause a pop-up menu to display, where you can
arrow down to Open link in browser, and press Enter.
This should allow the link to open in your default browser.
