Hello, folks:
This may be a bit of a technical post, so for those of you les
technically inclined, feel free to skip this message entirely. Grin.
I'm running a system here with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I just got a 60 day evaluation copy of Window-Eyes in the mail here.
I'm considering jumping onto the payment plan that GW Micro has
available for purchasing the software in monthly installments, but I
already have JAWS for Windows installed on this system.
Now, I know that both JAWS and Window-Eyes should get along just fine.
However, one of my friends suggests using Window-Eyes exclusively.
I.e.
Setting it to automaticly start, etc, so that I can properly fully
evaluate it to see if it will fit my needs.
What I'm wondering about though, is if it's really adviseable to have
multiple video solutions installed.
I have seen computers in my time that have had multiple video-based
commercial screen reader solutions installed, but at the same time, to
me personally, their's just something wrong feeling about having more
than one video solution installed at any given time.
So, before I go making a mess of things, what's your collective
opinion in the Window-Eyes community?
Just curious what that is.
Also, for any of you customers who have used the Window-Eyes payment
plan program, I'm curious ultimately what factors whent into if you
folks chose the long term, or short term, respectively.
I could at this point, in my budget most likely spring for either plan term.
But I can't seem to make up my mind between the two plans ultimately,
and find myself sort of teetering like an old clunky seasaw between
the two terms.
I know I could pay off my copy of Window-Eyes early, regardless of
term, and if I opt for purchasing the licensing numbers manually, then
I could choose to spend $39, $100, etc.
But that's not really the factor that I can't get my head around.
I've actually talked with Dan, the man responsible for putting the W
in GW Micro, and he said that the minimum payment is $39, so I get
that.
He also said, that some folks choose to make four payments, then
they're done, etc, so I'm seeing that this is a pretty flexable
program for sure, regardless of term length that is chosen.
I'm presuming here that regardless of what plan I whent for, I could
choose how much money I forked over in the end, if I don't allow GW
micro to charge my card automaticly, and I'm thinking that's what I'll
end up doing.
I'd prefer to make the payments manually anyways, so that I can be in
control of what gets charged against my card at any given moment
during the payment schedule.
Any thoughts on this also is appreciated from the Window-Eyes user
community at large, thus why I'm writing here today.
Sorry for the two-parter, but I figured to shoot two birds with one
stone rather than writing two different emails.

Keith
