Complements of the season to everyone

Speech synthesis is very subjective. many of us old curmudgeons cut our
teeth on devices like Tri-Formation terminals, Type and Speak etc. There
isn't much value in trying to convince many of us that one synthesizer
is awful, because we use them when different expectations. Personally I
want the information and I want to get at it quickly, so responsiveness
is what I am looking for. As long as I can understand it, I'm happy.

If I am looking for something more leisurely then I want a good sounding
synthesizer in those situations where I am reading a book for pleasure.
And that is if I cannot find it professionally narrated by a person.

heck it might even be impossible to come to a consensus when it comes to
male Vs female voices, pitch, rate, tone and level of punctuation
spoken.
