Actually, numbers are not allowed in the exceptions dictionary either, but
as Shannon wrote, there is an app that was written to make that
accomodation.

Chris,
I don't think that you can use the number sign in the exception dictionary.
You could try leaving that out and see what happens or I think there is a
dictionary app that will allow those symbles.
I hope that might help.
Shannon

Subject: working with the exception dictionary

             Hi

Here's an interesting one for everyone to work with. I've got
something in the Window-eyes exception dictionary I'd like to change
but it doesn't seem to be working. On twitter, a lot of people use a
hashtag #a11y which is *supposed* to stand for the word "accessibility.
When you only have 140 characters to work with, I guess someone had the
bright idea to start using it and a lot of people use it so I'm
constantly hearing, a11y. What I'm trying to do, without much success
is to create a dictionary entry so that instead of a11y, Window-eyes
will say accessibility.

So to demonstrate, in the original edit box I put #a11y. in the
replacement edit box I put the word accessibility. When i hit the
update entry button, my rule doesn't seem to work. Is what I want to do
possible? If so I'd like to change this if i can.

Thanks.
