if it helps anyone, I've found that turning browse mode off and then having the autoload set to not load the browse mode buffer load automatically make gmail and all other google services pretty usable. It's the lag between responsiveness of keypresses in things like google docs and sheets that's hard to deal with, but I also understand there's a lot of realtime updating going on both on the part of google and window-eyes.

Hi

This is a very interesting situation. Someone mentioned that settings might play a roll. I still use Xp, and window-eyes 7.5.4, and using the link
www.gmail.com
I can still choose the basic html link, and all functions as before. I do see they made buttons for active accounts, so you can choose the appropriate one, and then type in the password for that account, and then it comes up as before. I use internet explorer 8 with my xp machine, living here in South Africa. With my tongue in my cheek I will say that newer is not always better then? (smile), meaning windows 7 or 8 and latest internet explorer.

Gmail is still a disaster. Window-eyes 8.4 doesn't even speak the drop down menus when hitting Enter on More Options so you can't even access contacts. I use Gmail to maintain our church's prayer chain and found a way to export the entire contact list and import it into Outlook which works a heck of a lot better.

Hey guys,
Well apparently setting up this new gmail account was a mistake, cause
none
of it appears accessible. There is all kinds of crap on this page.
I see stuff like wisawick at the top of the page.
There is no settings link anywhere. Whoever designed this did a horrible
job. Is anyone else having this frustration? All I wanna do is have
this
new gmail account be in basic html. Hell, I don't even see a signout
button.
Any thoughts? The other issue is the page appears to refresh. I'll get
about halfway down it, and it says downloading page.
