Subject: Re: WE, new laptop with Windows 8--and suggestions from Manny
hi Morné ,
I have updated my windows 7 to windows 8 with a dual boot menu.
and I have chosen to keep using windows 7 for my business needs, because
windows eyes does not read the screen with numpad with windows 8, which limits
access to certain programs.
I also bought a hp touch screen laptop with windows 8.1 and I will be
returning it back to Costco for a refund, because it has a large and very
sensitive mouse pad that changes windows by just typing, and it also had the
issues mentioned above.
A must for using windows 8 is to get it to look and feel like winddows 7,
which you can with a program from:
www.stardock.com
for the best productivity and customization software.
I bought the bundle package which includes
start8
and
ModernMix
and I recommend them. The cost was $7.99.
In windows 8 most programs install into the metro list and you can't make a
short-cuts for these programs onto your desktop without modern mix.
Good luck,
Manny

Hello list,
Today I'm getting a new HP laptop with Windows 8. I'm going to install WE
8.4. Does Windows 8 differ a lot from Windows 7?
How do I set the system tray to display everything and how do I configure
control-alt and the arrow keys to use the voice routor?
Your help will be appreciated.
