That’s why I’m still using Microsoft Security Essentials with Windows 7 64-bit.
I didn’t like Kaspersky and refuse to use Norton, because I hear is a “memory
hog.”

Subject: AVG Antivirus Broke WE Mouse Cursor

When I ran a complete scan of my computer with AVG, it said that two files in
the WE directory were infected. I thought it was only going to clean them, but
it must have taken them out to some mythical "quorantine" land, after which the
arrow keys that normally move the mouse cursor only gave a ding when I pressed
them.

I saw an option in the Advanced section of WE called Video Support Maintenance
or something like that; but when I got into it, I didn't know which option to
choose, so I clicked Cancel and got the heck out of there. My final resolution
was to uninstall and reinstall WE 8 and then update it to the current level.
But I would hope that there might be some way I could tell AVG's antivirus
program to leave "hands off" on the WE files.

Truth is, though, that when my license expires in August of 2014, I plan not to
renew it and rather seek a more accessible antivirus program. Sadly, AVG -
which was once fairly accessible - has gone almost completely to favor the
mouse addicts and other folk who cannot think past their eyesight.
