Hello, Jed,

I have a few questions to ask, the answers to which might clarify the situation for us:

What version of Windows are you running? What type of computer (desktop, laptop, etc.)? Does this "ding ding" happen only in one particular program, or is it likely to occur in several programs, occurring unpredictably on one of them? How about within Windows itself - if you have left your computer at the desktop for a time and return later, do you find that the dinging is there upon your return? You said that the "arrow keys" are useless when the malfunction occurs; but let's narrow the focus a bit: When the dinging occurs, how about the numpad arrow keys - which are generally "owned" by WE; do they also ding when you press them?

I admit that I don't have an answer for you; but my hope is that if we get some of the information I am asking, sa WE wizard might have one or more suggesstions for you. The only idea I can see at the moment is that when the dinging is happening, some kind of error condition might be extant in the system, or perhaps something strange has filled up a buffer in the system, making it busy for a time. Cjome to think of it, what do you have to do to "kill" the dinging when it happens?

I hope someone on this list can help you more.

Subject: window-eyes going ding ding ding

Hey guys
This happens from time to time, and I'd like to know the reason why. I'll
be in a web form, typing, and I can not navigate with my arrow keys. The
only way you can have any clue what you typed is to hit the back space key
and delete stuff, but the arrow keys become useless. Then I press them it
goes ding ding ding ding ding ding.
Any dieas what this is and how to fix it?
