Thanks, that works, and the unicode characters are preserved.
I say, what are the restrictions of the demo version? So far i don't think I've encountered any.

Hi

I recommend to test drive the QRead software, it reads PDF and other formats including EPUB very beautifully. Here is the website:

Subject: alternative to the Adobe Reader

Fellows and fellowesses,
I use the Adobe reader software for opening and reading PDFs, especially if the document contains unicode characters. Window-Eyes with DECTalk successfully renders such characters in PDFs; I'm not sure about other speech synths, but I digress. The problem I don't mind admitting to you is that I find the Adobe software slow and unstable. So, I am looking for an alternative PDF reader which works as well as the Adobe reader in rendering those unicode symbols, but minus the slowness and instability. Incidentally, OCR packages such as Kurzweil and Openbook do not recognise unicode text.

So, any ideas, suggestions?

Sincerely, Matthew
