The most common uses of non-breaking spaces are in word processors and
in HTML. In a word processor it prevents the line from being
automatically wrapped (broken) to the next line at that particular space
character. And in HTML all spaces are automatically reduced to one. So
you use non-breaking spaces if you want more.

Sometimes when I am arrowing through text to make a correction or insert
something, I will hear "nonbreaking space". Other times I will just
hear the word "space". What's the difference?
