I receive and read the New York Times daily from Newsline. Since the
receipt of my new Windows 7 computer my reading experience has been less
than stellar.

The postings arrive with 4 attachments: an .ncx file, an .opf file, a .smil
file and an .xml file.

The .xml file is the one I actually read. I select and open it with Windows
Explorer, which opens the .xml file with Internet explorer. I am then able
to jump from article to article using the h, or shift-h key to jump
backward, or I can pres 2h, or 2-shift-h to jump forward and back by
section.

Since the arrival of the new computer, however, I sometimes find that
Internet Explorer fails to complete the opening process, and usually when it
does, I find I can only read through part of the paper, perhaps 15 or 20
articles, and find only a list of headings 2 and 3 at the bottom of the
file, and no article titles or article text at all. Very strange!

Is it my computer, or have others noticed this, too?

I believe my old computer used Internet Explorer 8, but I don't know how to
identify the current version. Are there others out there experiencing this?
Or do others read the paper with something else? This is really weird.
