This isn't entirely a We problem. There are known issues that cause Outlook to
lock up. No fixes in the works yet though.

The problem with WE is that it plays too nicely in the sandbox. When outlook
locks up We isn't able to continue slogging along. If you call up a second text
to speech program and shut down Outlook, WE begins to talk again. It would be
nice if WE was more aggressive and have it assert itself more firmly. Another
option to consider is when trying to launch Window-Eyes when it is already
running, instead of a message saying that it is already running Window-Eyes
should just unload itself and reload again. This would get it speaking on those
occasions when a program like Outlook goes down and takes speech output as one
of its hostages.

Subject: Frustrating problem with WE and Outlook

Hello all and hope that you are having a wonderful weekend

I have a frustrating problem whereby outlook 2010, both on my home computer and
work computer, hang terribly when I perform certain functions. These functions
include entering an address to send an e-mail, typing in a subject line and
spell check using the outlook spell checker. I really do believe this is a WE
issue as if I shut down We and restart it, I am able to perform the needed
tasks. Does anyone have any ideas on who to address this issue. I find myself
relying more and more on my iPod fifth generation to avoid dealing with these
frustrations.
