Just a small rant but the fact Open Office is accessible under
Window-Eyes 8.0 and later isn't all that true. Why then make this claim
is this is to be the case?

Thanks Rod.
Have done everything summarised in the article, and now stumped by the
need for sighted assistance. I wonder if the pressing of logical
initial letters might do the accessibility trick?

Depending upon what version of WE you have, it should be part of the

It might be that you need the access bridge piece activated and

Subject: Open Office
greetings.
i seem to recall that beginning with window-eyes version 8, open
office had become accessible. this may be my urban myth however,
as having now just installed open office, it seems far from
accessible. it seems as if familiar windows features such as the
menu bar, universal shortcuts etc do not work. am i supposed to
make some configuration changes or should i just go back to
ordinary microsoft office?
many thanks.
vaughan.
